The building was purchased by the provincial government in 1928, and has operated as a government office building ever since. It is presently occupied by two divisions of the Justice Department. The building was designated as a provincial heritage property in 1980. The main concern for the preservation of the building relates to the terra cotta. In the fall of 2003 McLeod repointed the masonry, replaced spalled bricks on the north and south faces, repointed all the terra cotta trims, reattached and/or reconstructed all of the broken terra cotta elements. |
