Gordon McLeod
Gordon graduated from the University of Alberta, Canada, in 1969, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. During summers, while attending university he worked as a mason under German trained journeymen. After graduating from university he was hired by MacMillan Bloedel in 1969 as a planning and development engineer and worked on Vancouver Island for five years. During this time Gordon was also building stone and brick fireplaces and in 1974 founded McLeod Masonry The company's efforts and quality were quickly recognized by the commercial building industry. The next four years were spent building relations with owners, architects and builders in commercial land and industrial projects throughout the central Vancouver Island district.
In 1979, McLeod Masonry completed the first terra cotta/brick restoration project for Public Works Canada at the Cumberland Post Office. Upon completion, Gordon was quickly appointed to restore a similar project at the Courtenay Post Office. Since these projects McLeod Masonry has completed many notable restoration projects and have gained considerable expertise in this specialized field.
